A Frozen River

This is the Verdigris River, a river we pass over on our way to church. This river is always running and it is big enough that barges travel up and down it. But as you can see from these pictures, it is frozen. Even though the ice looks broken up, it isn't. While I was getting pictures, the boys were throwing rocks on the ice and it wouldn't break no matter how big the rocks were. For the first time in 3 weeks, temperatures finally got out of the 30s. I think that it got around 50 today and things started melting. Although it has been extremely cold, we have enjoyed it.
From what I understand, this cold spell set records in Oklahoma as well as in other parts of the world.

I don't know about you, but I know that God is in control of all things... including our seasons, weather, and climate.

Hey, I was thinking... next time y'all want some family pics maybe I could take yours, and you could take ours! Like bartering! I thought it was a cool idea. Let me know what you think. :o)
