Our little "Blizzard"

I just wanted to give another little update about our "blizzard". It is still snowing and will continue to snow until about 2:00 or 3:00 a.m.. The wind is blowing at about 45 miles per hour! The snow is already 8" inches deep! I tried to video the snow that is being blown of our roof. Here is the best I could get.

We will probably have some more pictures by tomorrow. We already have one sled, but the boys decided that they would like two. So they built a sled from cardboard boxes. They are even going to melt a candle and pour the melted wax down the bottom part of the sled to make it faster. We are going to try it out in the morning. I will post more tomorrow. I thank the Lord for all of this snow.

Family Photos

We usually have a dear friend take our pictures. But this year because of distance and circumstances, we had to resort to using my camera's timer and my tripod. We had fun taking our own pictures. It was fun having to race the timer. But next time we think that we will wait for our friend! Enjoy.Posted by Picasa

Snow!!!!! :)

It's snowing here!!!! It is the first snow of the season. We have been watching for snow all day long. It rained and it was sleeting till about 5:30, and we were all outside playing and then here it came. We are actually in a BLIZZARD warning!!!!!!!!! Everything is covered in snow and it is still snowing!. I tried to take some pictures, but I didn't want my camera to get wet. When we all came in, my mom had Wassail for us. Wassail is a warmed apple cider. Here is the recipe.

Wassail

1 gallon Apple Cider
4 Cinnamon sticks
1/2 teaspoon Cloves
1/2 teaspoon Allspice
1/2 teaspoon Nutmeg
1 whole Orange sliced with rind
1 whole Lemon sliced with rind
4 cups Orange juice
1 cup sugar or to taste

Mix this all in a big pot on the stove. Let it sit on low heat for a few hours. Its better the longer it sits. Enjoy!

Keep warm.

Winter Weather

This past week the temperature has been between 3o and 40 degrees! We have had some frost on the ground almost every morning and are hoping for some snow on Tuesday night and Wednesday. On Wednesday morning the temperature is suppose between 15 and 20 degrees!!! The temperatures are suppose to stay about the same the rest of the week. We have had to light a fire almost every day this past week.

I'm Back!

I'm sorry that I haven't posted in a while. I had the flu and was down for about one week. But was able to post about Luke's pilgrim suit on Thanksgiving.
This past week my Grandmother has been here and so I've been busy and haven't posted.
I am going to try to do Seedlings later this week and I'll post on that (with pictures this time). ;)
I hope that you have a wonderful week.
God bless! :)
